This page documents one coherent concave mirror stainless steel disc sculpture documented through five final workshop inspection views of one fabrication project. It is intended for artists, curators, arquitectos, landscape designers and public or commercial art project teams who need engineering and fabrication support for a custom commission rather than a stock retail item.
Project Applications
- artist-led optical and reflective sculpture commissions
- galería, museum and cultural venue installations
- architectural courtyards, plazas and landscape focal points
- hotel, resort and commercial atrium art projects
Opciones personalizadas
- disc diameter, depth and approved concave curvature
- 304 o 316 stainless steel after indoor or outdoor exposure review
- mirror reflection standard and approved polishing sample
- rear structure, edge profile and mounting interface
- freestanding, suspended or site-specific support design
- transport split, protective packing and installation sequence
Fabrication Workflow and Production Process
- Revisar dibujos, 3archivos D, intended viewing conditions, target diameter, site conditions and schedule.
- Confirm curvature, reflection intent, material grade, structure, fixing method and transport plan.
- Develop forming data, edge details, reinforcement and lifting points before fabrication.
- Form and weld the stainless steel while controlling profile accuracy, heat and deformation.
- Grind, sand and polish progressively against an approved mirror-finish sample.
- Inspect curvature, reflected lines, edges, rear structure and interface dimensions during trial assembly.
- Protect the finished surface and prepare numbered packing and installation references.
Control de calidad
Inspection focuses on concave profile tolerance, reflection continuity, weld deformation control, edge geometry, rear-structure stiffness, surface inspection and installation alignment. Curvature and reflection criteria should be agreed against drawings, samples and expected viewing distance before final production.
Packing and Installation
Mirror surfaces receive removable protective film and non-abrasive interlayers. Edges and projecting interfaces receive shaped foam protection. Large discs can use reinforced wooden cases or steel transport frames, with lifting points and installation references documented before shipment.
Preguntas frecuentes
Can the disc curvature be customized from an artist’s 3D file?
Sí. We review the intended optical effect, diameter, depth, viewing distance, support conditions and acceptable reflection tolerances before quotation.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please send drawings, 3D files or reference images, target dimensions, project location, material and finish expectations, mounting conditions and delivery date.
Can this sculpture be engineered for outdoor use?
Sí. Material grade, rear structure, drainage, wind loading, anchors and maintenance access are reviewed against the project environment.
How is mirror distortion controlled?
Forming sequence, weld layout, heat control, sanding stages and polishing direction are coordinated with profile and reflected-line inspections.
Can the rear support be customized for the site?
Sí. Freestanding, suspended and wall-mounted interfaces can be developed around the site structure, access route and installation method.
How is the mirror surface protected during shipping?
We use removable film, soft interlayers, shaped foam and a reinforced case or steel frame selected for the final geometry and route.
